A question I have is, aside from products like Uniblue RegistryBooster which is advertised as free but only clears 15 errors before a fee must be paid, why are these registry cleaners available for free? A) manufacturers hope to sell upgrades or associated products? B) free products can be used as trojan horses to download unwanted software? C)they are genuine freeware or shareware provided by developers who make it available out of the goodness of their hearts or hoping for profit from small fees x many users?
Whatever the motives of the manufacturers are, we know that we cannot always avail of things for free.
I find though that CCleaner is a good, free registry cleaner and I have been using it for more than 2 years. I also learned at least 10 ways to fix a slow computer after using desktops for more than 20 years. I wrote about this topic too but failed to point out the importance of tweaking windows systems. Nice to point that out.

Also be aware of infectious virus which says it makes the the computer run faster. Thats what happened to me couple of weeks back and I had to install the appropriate adware to rectify the problem.
